These Terms of Service govern your use of RemeDocs ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
RemeDocs provides automated PDF accessibility scanning and remediation. You upload PDF documents; we analyze them against WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and PDF/UA standards; we return accessibility reports and, on paid plans, remediated PDFs.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We'll give reasonable notice of material changes when possible.
2. Accounts
You must create an account to use RemeDocs. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
Accounts are for individual users or organizations. You may not share accounts or resell access to the Service.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload files you don't have the rights to process
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models or processing logic
- Deliberately overload the Service or circumvent scan limits
- Upload malicious files intended to harm our systems
- Use the Service to process documents containing unlawful content
4. Your Content
You own the PDF documents you upload. You grant RemeDocs a limited license to process, store, and transmit your documents solely to provide the Service to you.
You represent that you have the right to upload and process the documents you submit — that you own them or have appropriate authorization to use them.
We don't use your documents to train AI models or share them with third parties, except as required to operate the Service (e.g., sending to our AI provider for analysis).
5. Subscriptions and Billing
RemeDocs offers paid subscription plans billed monthly. Pricing is listed on our Pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellations. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We don't prorate partial months.
Refunds. We generally don't offer refunds. If you believe you were charged in error, email [email protected] within 14 days and we'll review it.
Plan limits. Each plan includes a monthly scan limit. Unused scans don't roll over. If you reach your limit, you'll need to upgrade or wait for the next billing cycle.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details.
6. Free Tier
If we offer a free tier, it is provided as-is with no SLA. We may modify or discontinue free tier access at any time.
7. Intellectual Property
RemeDocs and its underlying technology, branding, and content are owned by RemeDocs. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described here.
Your documents remain yours. The accessibility reports and remediated PDFs we generate from your documents are yours to use however you like.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the remediated PDFs will pass all accessibility audits.
PDF accessibility is complex. Our AI-assisted remediation substantially improves compliance, but we cannot guarantee 100% conformance with any specific standard or that any particular regulator or auditor will find a remediated document compliant.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RemeDocs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or accessibility compliance failures.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RemeDocs from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your documents infringing the rights of a third party.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay, or if we reasonably believe your use is harming the Service or other users. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and contacting us to delete your data.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Michigan.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. For material changes, we'll notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance.
