Links, bookmarks and forms

Long document has no bookmarks

Bookmarks are the clickable outline in the PDF's side panel. They let readers jump to each section.

Who it affects

Everyone, and especially people who use screen readers or keyboards.

Why it matters

Without bookmarks, finding a section in a long document means scrolling or listening through every page.

How to fix it

  1. In Word: use Heading styles. When you save as PDF, open Options and tick "Create bookmarks using Headings".

What RemeDocs does

RemeDocs creates bookmarks from the headings automatically.
