Title, language and fonts

Fonts aren't included in the file

The PDF relies on fonts installed on the reader's computer instead of carrying its own copy.

Who it affects

Anyone whose computer lacks the font, including many screen reader users.

Why it matters

Text may show up as boxes or odd symbols, or be read aloud wrongly.

How to fix it

  1. In Word: choose File, then Options, then Save, and tick "Embed fonts in the file". Then create the PDF again.
  2. In other programs: look for an "embed fonts" option when you export to PDF.

What RemeDocs does

This has to be fixed when the PDF is created from the original file.
