Structure and reading order

The document's hidden structure has extra or broken pieces

The hidden labels (tags) have duplicate or empty pieces. For example, a paragraph may be wrapped inside another paragraph.

Who it affects

People who use screen readers.

Why it matters

Extra pieces can make a screen reader repeat things, announce empty items, or describe the page wrongly.

How to fix it

  1. In Adobe Acrobat Pro: open the Tags panel and remove empty or doubled tags.
  2. Or re-create the PDF from the original file with accessibility turned on.

What RemeDocs does

RemeDocs flags these for a person to review.
